Getting on with things.

So. I’ve got a new normal. I don’t like it nearly as much as the old normal. But it will have to do.

his and hers

Awww. Our feet are twins!

I must say, I LOVE Instant Gratification. It was a joy to knit with, and not just because at 6.5 sts to 1″ (my preferred gauge for this yarn) it’s faster than lightning. The colors are vibrant and well chosen, the wool itself has a great texture, it’s superwash AND I can get a pair of socks for each of us out of two skeins. I’ll be buying more of this one.

Three more projects to finish and then I can start something new: the linen hand towels, the Elspeth sleeve repair and the Bittersweet socks (which I completely pulled out and started over on smaller needles).

And then there is this. It sounds AWESOME. I am SO in.

**Me and 400 other sock knitters apparently.**

Since I am a BIG fan of instant gratification in any shape or form AND just happened to be surfing today for some self striping sock yarn I’m going to take your recommendation to heart and place an order!! I haven’t heard of this yarn or seen this website prior to now…..I am SOOOO going to have to get a part time job to support my yarn habit!!!

Awwww. Matching snuggly socks! Too cute!!

I saw that sock wars thing a while back. I decided no way - I’m not wanting that kind of pressure right here in the pre-Christmas knitting months! hehe

Nice matching socks! I thought about entering sock wars but I don’t knit well under pressure. :)

How cute!! I’m making my little man a pair of socks to match my dad’s birthday socks. I just love matching socks!
Thanks for the link to the Instant Gratification yarn. That stuff looks great. What pattern did you use on these socks?

    Hey Emily,
I’ve been awol from the whole blogging world and had to catch up. I LOVE Hill Country Yarns. I’m working on a pair in “Hook ‘Em Horns” now. Sock Wars scares me - too much on my plate as it is! While never the same, your new normal will get easier. Been there, I understand.

Still trying to decide if I want to do the sock wars. It sure does sound like fun, but I have so much knitting that I want to do! I’ll have to check out this yarn vendor. Haven’t ordered from them before.

  12. Tonni Says:

BTW, what are the stats on the socks with this yarn? Needle size, cast-on number?

  13. Ruth Says:

Love the matching socks. Such beautiful colours.
Hope you have a great day.

How clever to make matching socks. Maybe I shall do that for my wee little family of 3.

I joined the Sock Wars. Do you think we will get matched? This will be very interesting…..

I just noticed your Epic CounterPain progress grid — very nice! You’re knitting in something of an interesting order, it seems….

Those socks look super cozy. I wonder if Matt would consent to wearing matching socks.
