I recently received my very first Lorna's Laces yarn from Amanda and Leah who both were deeply distressed that I had led a life devoid of this yarn. At first, I was hesitant about accepting the yarn that has been referred to as "crack" by many many many many bloggers - "your first hit free" is how the Drug Dealers get you, you know. Needless to say: I am a fan. Now, in the Tradition of Dealers everywhere, I want to share the love.
Two lucky people who enter Your First Skein is Free will receive 2 skeins (enough for a pair of socks) of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in the colorway of their choice!

I've never even touched the fabled Shepherd Sock, and grow green with envy watching the world knit its wooly goodness. "Daffodil" makes my heart go pitter-pat.
My grandmother taught me to knit when I was a little girl. I picked it up again about a year ago and I'm getting ready to knit my first pair of socks. "To insure a successful and pleasurable experience I should probably knit my first pair with the best yarn, LL."
I'm just getting into knitting "real" socks. I did some sock slippers in the past. I liked them because they could be done on larger needles. The thought of size 0 DPNs did not appeal to me at all. Well, I dubbed 2006 the year of the sock. I signed up for a sock pal and went to work on Opal Dreamcatcher on size 3 DPNs. I'm now working on Plymouth Sockotta on size 2 DPNs. As you can see, I'm working my way down. I have already accumulated a healthy stash of sock yarn. But, I'm a sock newbie. I've been eyeing Trekking XXL and Socks that Rock. I'm reading blogs like crazy to learn about everyone's favorite. I'm definitely new to Lorna's Laces. Amethyst Stripe and Flames both look beautiful.
Lorna's Laces should be free because: Air, water, and all the OTHER things absolutely necessary for survival are free.
Ohhhhhhhhhh...*shivers* What are you talking about? That's not pretty yarn. *wipes saliva off computer monitor and tries to constrain hands* I think Black Purl is the one that makes my heart go pitter-pat. Here's why I should get some of my first LL. I have never seen any LL in my life and it would be the best event if I ever did. ♥ ♥ ♥!!!!! Excluding the hearts, that's 20 words. The colorway that makes my heart go ♥ is Desert Flower.
Ok, so if you're taking addicts as well... My husband could sure use another pair of socks! *grin* I'm sure he would love a pair from the new colorway called Safari.
Regular sock yarn has never given me joy. Free LL will get me addicted both to LL and to sock-knitting. My drug -- I mean colorway -- of choice is Sassy Stripe.

Oh, LL! Hold my hand while I confront my fear of DPNs! I cannot face it with a lesser yarn.(Lorikeet makes my toes twitch -- it looks fearless.)
For my sophomore sock attempt, the MT. STREAM would surely keep my tootsies cool during the 120-degree Arizona summers!

I live on the Minnesota tundra. Socks knit of lovely, warm yarn are the only things between me and frostbitten insanity.
The few sane brain cells that I have left will certainly improve their outlook on life if a skein of Lorna's Laces colorway Daffodil appears in my mailbox.

I'm a sock novice and didn't buy enough Koigu for my first pair (size 11 foot), but I'm sure a free batch of Lorna's Laces in Georgetown would cheer me up!
This LL virgin deserves some because she's a (starving) 18 year old college pre-med student who utter crack is knitting socks.
And my super fave colour Berry, that's all. Just because I can't get LL here and purple/red is awesome.

I need free LL; my kids sneer that the cheapo acrylic I use for their socks is "so totally gross." [Colors: Fresh Stripe Sock or Uptown; either sounds like a good intro to LL....]
A sock knitting virgin - recently mastered double needles, socks next challenge. Help me lose my virginity with lust inducing Lorna's Laces. Forgot to mention any colour does it for me.
I have recently discovered the joy of knitting socks and of course the joy of a sock yarn stash. I am trying to build one. But I am also enjoying using from it :) I would love to try LL because looking at it makes my mouth dry, palms sweaty and heart beating faster... I think it will be a true love story :)
I am DYING to make socks!! I need a good beginners pattern but I feel like I could do this with the DP needles! I have heard so much about Lorna's Laces and would love for this to be used for my first pair of socks!! Iris is my choice!!

I’ve been knitting six months and am addicted. Never used Lorna’s Laces, but I’m dying to experience this knitting “high”. Watercolor is the colorway that makes my heart skip a beat.
This very day I bought my first real, non-acrylic yarn. I nearly died from happiness. YOU can make this happen to me again. Only with Uptown can I live one more day upon this earth.
